Valerio has sailed over 100,000 miles, from the Mediterranean to the Caribbean, from the Caribbean to Rhode Island, from Tahiti to Fiji, and many other oceanic routes.
He has been a member of the Royal Ocean Racing Club since 1995 and has competed in numerous regattas and races including the Fastnet, Cervantes Trophy and Caribbean RORC 600, as well as crossing the Atlantic 11 times with the ARC Rally since 2006.
Born just outside Florence, Italy, Valerio began sailing in Tuscany with his two older brothers. When he moved with his wife and young family to London in 1993, he qualified as Yacht Master Offshore. She holds an ISAF safety course qualification, ENGI maritime medical certificate and updated in 2012 with the Yacht Master Ocean certificate of competency with commercial approval for vessels of codes <200g.
His second language is English, he also speaks French and Spanish. Valerio is an excellent communicator, he puts everyone at ease by helping everyone navigate to the best of their ability. The goal is to guarantee everyone – whether it is a family or a racing crew – the best experience on board Milanto.
